Hostel Traveler Tips

These insights strike the perfect balance between useful, light hearted, and behind the scenes realness, exactly the kind of content our travellers love.

🌟 We genuinely want you to have a great time

We aren’t here just for checking you in, but we want our guests to have an amazing trip. Ask us things! Tell us where you’re going! Show us your photos of Lynn Canyon or Stanley Park! We’re here because we enjoy helping people explore the city and its surrondings.

Don't be afraid to talk with us, we don't bite 😁

· We love giving recommendations and enjoy hearing about your adventures.

· We want you to feel at home 🏠 safe & welcome at all times.

💡We love when guests ask for recommendations

We know:

City of Vancouver 🗺️

· The best cheap eats and hidden viewpoints.📍

· Which hikes are doable without a car. 🚵🏻

· Which bars are fun on which nights. 🍾

· Recommendation for activities, specially during summer or holidays, ask our reception team anytime!

🧹Small courtesies make a huge difference.

Generally, hostels run on shared spaces, so tiny habits go along way, here are few tips you can help us put in practice as our guest:

· Washing dishes right after using them. 🍽️🧼

· Keeping food labelled (specially name, to know who belongs to, room number and departure date, we aren't seers yet 🔮 to magically know this info without label).

· Turning off lights 🔦 when leaving the dorm, specially during resting hours. 😴

· Be mindful of the time using bathrooms (Keep showers 🚿 short during peak times, don’t leave your socks🧦in the bathroom (we beg you 🙏🏻), and keep tidy laundry rooms, common areas for others.

🤫🔕Quiet hours matter more than you think

We get it — you’re excited, you met cool people, and Vancouver nightlife is calling. But some guests have 5 AM ferries, early hikes, or jet lag from 14 time zones away.

Each of our amazing guest have different schedule, so, please be mindful with them as you would like them to be mindful about you. 😊

· Whispering after midnight is a superpower

· Headphones 🎧 = friendship🫂

· Our staff wish guests knew how much noise backpacks, plastic bags, and zippers make at 5 AM and how that can affect your roommates.

Respecting quiet hours is the ultimate act of hostel kindness to your roommates and your self, reminder of “The Golden Rule” treat others as one would like to be treated.

🧳Packing smart helps everyone

· Packing the night before is a lifesaver.

· Using a phone flashlight is kinder than turning on the dorm light.

· Keeping toiletries together avoids “Where’s myshampoo?” chaos.

Our amazing hostel keeping clean multiple times a day, especially common areas, however, we’re not magicians!

Hostels are high‑traffic spaces. we wish guests knew this as this build’s appreciation for the work behind the scenes.

· Although we can’t control how messy other guests are, we can take action to tidy up and talk with them to kindly remind them about shared environment etiquette.

· Reporting issues early helps fix them faster, for that we opened multiple communication channels (social media like Instagram 📸 & WhatsApp📱and classic communication channels like email 📧 and phone ☎️).

If something’s wrong, tell us — we want to fix it ASAP!

Guests sometimes wait until checkout to mention issues.Staff wish they’d say something sooner as most problems can be solved quicklyif staff know about them.

· A broken outlet.

· A noisy bunk.

· A messy bathroom.

· A rude roommate.

Hostels are social — but consent and respect come first

Staff often wish guests understood is important to set ahealthy, respectful tone for everyone, here are some important info:

· Not everyone wants to party.

· Not everyone wants to chat.

· Personal space matters, even in shared rooms.

We’ve seen everything — you won’t shock us

We have experienced:

· Lost passports.

· Guests sleeping in the wrong bed.

· Someone cooking pasta without water.

For that, we want to reassure you that our staff areapproachable and unflappable.

A simple “thank you” makes our day

Hospitality work can be intense. A small moment of kindnessgoes a long way:

· A smile.

· A thank‑you.

· A quick chat.

· A positive review mentioning staff by name.

Here are some information and tips we wish our guests and patrons knew before arriving so they have a heads up of what's coming for your future or returning experience. Cheers! 🍻
